Come build cars that drive themselves.
Open to Berkeley students in any major. You don't need autonomy experience.
Pick where you'd start
Work on the driving stack itself.
Perception, planning, learning and the research behind them.
> machine learning
> computer vision
> research
Build the vehicles the stack runs on.
From robots and the golf cart to race cars.
> controls
> embedded systems
> electrical engineering
> mechanical engineering
> vehicle engineering
Keep the club running.
Partnerships, funding and everything around the engineering.
> business and partnerships
We care about builders.
We keep teams small enough that every member owns a real piece of a system. A club where hundreds join a Slack and twelve build the car is what we're trying to avoid.
You pick up new tools quickly.
You can grow into owning a system.
You finish what you start.
Questions
Do I need autonomy experience?
No. Evidence that you build things matters more than prior autonomy work.
Which majors can join?
Any. We take students from software, ML, robotics, every branch of engineering, and operations and business.
What will I actually work on?
A real technical deliverable that you own, in the shared stack or on one of the vehicles.
Why Berkeley?
Berkeley has strong programs in AI, robotics, controls and transportation research, and the Bay Area's tech companies are close by.
